DENSTONE VILLAGE HALL PRESS RELEASE - Times & Echo 15.09.2021
Denstone Village Hall is back in business!
Many clubs, groups and societies have resumed booking the hall for their activities from the complete age range: Toddlers to the Tuesday Club.
The Denstone Country Show held on Saturday, 4th September, despite being lower key than previously attracted huge numbers which surprised and pleased the hard working team of organisers.
On Friday 11th September a fish and chip lunch was held for 38 people. “It was a great success” said Nancy Turner, Chairman of the Village Hall Committee. “It was wonderful to see so many people returning to enjoy good food (provided by Rocester Fish and Pizza Bar) and good company. More lunches and suppers are being planned in support of the Village Hall, W.I, and the Church”
The parish wide survey recently undertaken by the management committee found a high level of satisfaction with the hall. The location, access and car parking facilities were all highly regarded. New external and internal signage is planned and a website including online calendar and booking information is due to be launched in October.
Denstone Players Chairman. Dave Shooter said “the survey demonstrated how fortunate we are to have such excellent facilities for performing shows in the village; our next is ‘Big Nose – the Adventures of Pinocchio’ – a pantomime especially written by Gill and Dave Brown which will be performed in February half term. Auditions will be held from 2pm on Sunday 26th September. All are welcome to come along and get involved’
2022 will be the Village Hall’s 60th anniversary. Many activities will be planned to make this a really special year.
